Early sign in Tunisia of strong Islamist vote


TUNIS, Tunisia (AP) — Tunisian electoral officials are counting votes in landmark elections that saw more than 90 percent of registered voters cast ballots. Early results from individual voting stations carried by local radio stations Monday put the Islamist Ennahda Party in the lead in many constituencies. Official results are not expected until later Monday or Tuesday.
