The Jazz Poetry Foundation is appealing to members of the public to support its third annual book drive, an initiative aimed at expanding access to educational resources for students in rural communities across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The 2026 campaign, titled “Beyond Boundaries III”, seeks to collect and distribute 300 books to three rural secondary schools, with a target of 100 books per institution.

Founded as a Christian non-profit organisation, the Jazz Poetry Foundation promotes academic and biblical literacy through book donations, educational programmes and community outreach initiatives. According to the Foundation, the annual book drive forms part of its broader mission to support young people academically while encouraging them to discover their purpose and potential.

The initiative traces its roots to 2024 when the Foundation’s founder, Jahzara Glasgow, joined classmates and a former Literature lecturer in donating textbooks to Form Five students in a rural community. Witnessing the need for educational resources among students inspired Glasgow to expand the effort into a larger literacy initiative.

“After months of prayer and careful consideration, I established the Jazz Poetry Foundation with a vision of assisting students academically while sharing my faith and encouraging young people to discover their God-given purpose and live to their fullest potential,” Glasgow explained.

This year’s book drive runs from June to September 2026. The Foundation is collecting new and gently used textbooks, study guides, devotionals, Bible tracts, children’s books and activity books suitable for all academic levels, from early childhood through tertiary education.

Glasgow said the initiative is about more than providing reading materials.

“The Beyond Boundaries initiative is about much more than donating books and educational materials. It is about equipping this generation with the materials, knowledge and encouragement they need to pursue the purpose God has placed before them,” she said.

“Through this initiative, we seek to remind young people that their circumstances do not define their future and that boundaries are not limitations to learning or excellence.”

Persons wishing to contribute can arrange collection or delivery of donations by contacting 1 (784) 497-0449 or by sending a message to @jazzpoetryfdn on Instagram.

The Foundation is encouraging individuals, businesses, churches, schools and community groups to support the drive and help place more books into the hands of students who can benefit from them.
