A magnitude 6.7 earthquake, recorded near Guadeloupe on October 27, was felt in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
The UWI Seismic Research Centre (UWI SRC) posted a Manual Earthquake Location moments ago, stating that the quake was felt at 8:38 a.m. local time.
The earthquake was recorded at a latitude of 16.50°N, longitude 59.55°W, with a depth of 12 km.
Nearby cities include Point-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, 222 km east; Roseau, Dominica, 244 km northeast; and Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, 264 km east-southeast.
Many residents across St. Vincent and the Grenadines reported feeling the quake.
The preliminary location was automatically calculated by computer algorithms and is subject to revision pending evaluation by SRC analysts.
