Charlotte-Accident

News Americas, CHARLOTTE, NC, Mon. June 1, 2015: A Charlotte couple who lost both of their children to a horrific accident last weekend want no flowers for their sons but support for the less fortunate in Haiti.

Gentry Eddings, a worship leader at Forest Hill’s Ballantyne campus in South Park, Charlotte lost his 2-year-old boy newborn baby boy following a four-vehicle wreck north of Wilmington, N.C. Memorial Day weekend.

Yesterday, at a “celebration” for the two young boys whose lives were tragically cut short, Eddings and wife Hadley said in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Mission of Hope Haiti, a Christian organization that meets the physical and spiritual needs of Haitian villagers.

Visit mohhaiti.org and click Donate Now. Under Choose a Program, select General and type Eddings Family in the additional comments box.

Eddings also said he and his wife have forgiven Matthew Deans, the 28-year-old truck driver from Wilmington who has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle and failure to reduce speed.

The tragic story of the Eddings’ loss touched the Charlotte community and beyond.
