News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Tues. June 28, 2016: Founder of Effen Vodka, Rapper 50 Cent, and the organizers of the 20th annual St. Kitts and Nevis Music Festival have stayed largely silent following the performer’s arrest on the island early Sunday morning, June 26, 2016.

WINN FM St. Kitts reports indicate that 50 Cents, born Curtis  James Jackson,III in South Jamaica, Queens, NY, was booked on charges of profanity after dropping the words “fuckin” and “motherfuckin’” while performing his hit “P.I.M.P.” He has reportedly been warned to keep his act clean.

The lyrics to the song includes the following chorus:

“I don’t know what you heard about me
But a bitch can’t get a dollar out of me
No Cadillac, no perms, you can’t see
That I’m a motherfucking P-I-M-P.”

As well as the lyrics:

“Bitch hit the track, catch a date, and come pay the kid
Look baby, this is simple you can’t see
You fuckin’ with me you fuckin’ with a P.I.M.P.”

Jackson, 40, was arrested in his dressing room at the Warner Park Stadium and taken to the Basseterre Police Station where he was charged with Making Use of Indecent Language, WINN FM reported.   Also arrested along with the rapper was his bodyguard Bajar Walter who was also charged with Making Use of Indecent Language as well as Obstruction.

The station said that despite being closed on Sundays, The Basseterre Magistrate court opened and the two were granted bail in the amount of EC$5,000 each with two sureties.  The money was paid and the two were released after their case was presented by attorneys Chesley Hamilton and Marissa Hobson Newman.

50 Cent was set to appear in Court originally on Monday but was scheduled to fly out of St. Kitts at 2 p.m. EST in order to attend the BET Awards Sunday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

So far 50 has not commented on the charge on social media and neither has the St. Kitts Music Festival which had actually promoted the rapper’s actual performance 15 minutes before he took the stage on Saturday night June 25th but was silent after, choosing to focus on performers like the O’Jays and Taurrus Riley. Not a single photo of 50′s performance was posted on the Festival’s twitter account though there were postings for other performers.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent’s representative told Rolling Stone in a statement that the artist “was only booked to host” the St. Kitts Music Festival, but that when he arrived “the festival organizers asked him to perform.”

“Unfortunately, they didn’t have the clean version [of 50 Cent’s] tracks, so there were profanities used” while he rapped along to the music, the statement added.

In 2003, rapper DMX was also arrested for cursing during a concert in St. Kitts & Nevis.
