Six finalists announced for Lions Club St Vincent South/FLOW Public Speaking Competition

Judges have selected the six (6) finalists to represent their respective secondaryschools in the Lions Club St Vincent South/FLOW SVG National Secondary Schools PublicSpeaking Competition.

The Lions Club St. Vincent South said Friday the six were selected following presentations from thirteen (13) schools across four (4) zones in the preliminary round of competition held at the Frenches House on October 16th and 18th.

The finalists will be vying for the Lion Michael De Freitas Challenge Trophy at the finals scheduled for Tuesday, November 5th from 7PM at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown.

The students will speak on the topic: ‘Our world is in a state of confusion as it tries to reconcileone’s inalienable rights, civil liberties, religious beliefs and the role of the State.

The Finalists are Macy Baptiste of the Sandy Bay Secondary School, Jaheem Primus of the St. Vincent Grammar School, Rahj Bulze – Dr. J.P. Eustace Memorial Secondary School, Samara Lynch – Mountain View Adventist Academy, Kyra Johnson – North Union Secondary School, and Alexander Cummings – St. Martin’s Secondary School, the Lions Club St. Vincent South announced.

The six finalists will meet with the Club’s Public Speaking committee on Tuesday October22nd from 1:30PM at Computec’s conference room in Kingstown.

This year’s competition is once again being sponsored by telecommunications providerFLOW SVG.
