St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), which opened its first international airport on February 14, 2017, will experience a significant milestone as three American Airlines flights from different parts of the United States land on the same day for the first time.

In a press release, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA) announced that these three American Airlines flights are scheduled to arrive at Argyle International Airport (AIA) between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 7.

The flights will be arriving from Charlotte, New York’s JFK Airport, and Miami, according to the SVGTA.

“This landmark achievement highlights the nation’s continued advancement in global aviation, strengthening its connectivity to the world and solidifying St. Vincent and the Grenadines as a premier destination in the Caribbean,” the SVGTA said.

American Airlines commenced non-stop service at the Argyle International Airport (AIA) in December 2018, but the service was only to and from the Miami International Airport.

The airline has increased the number of flights from across the U.S. to SVG since the opening of Sandals Resorts in March this year in Buccament, St. Vincent.

A Holiday Inn Express and Suites was also opened here in November this year, and a number of hotels have expanded their room stock.

This year, Jet Blue, Sunrise Airways, Liat 20, and Winair began service to and from the Argyle International Airport.

Other carriers that operate flights to and from St. Vincent include Caribbean Airlines, Air Canada, and Virgin Atlantic.
