Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture, Carlos James, has congratulated Sandals St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) on winning the Gold Medal for Best All-Inclusive Resort in the World at the 2025 Travvy Awards, describing the achievement as “a proud and historic moment for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.”
He noted that Sandals SVG recognition as the world’s best all-inclusive resort serves as a powerful endorsement of the destination, its people, and the strategic partnership developed with Sandals Resorts International.
In his remarks, Minister James extended congratulations to Executive Chairman Adam Stewart, the leadership team, and the many Vincentians whose professionalism and hospitality contributed to the resort’s success.
The Travvy Awards, presented by TravAlliancemedia and widely regarded as the “Oscars of the travel industry,” are voted on by travel advisors and recognise outstanding excellence across global tourism brands and destinations.

Minister James also highlighted the resort’s exceptional performance since its opening in March 2024, pointing to strong occupancy levels, excellent guest reviews, and its seamless incorporation of local culture, cuisine, and community partnerships.
He described Sandals St. Vincent as a benchmark for excellence in the Caribbean, noting: “From increased employment to expanded supply-chain opportunities for local farmers, fishers, and artisans, the economic and social impact has been transformational. This award reinforces what thousands of guests have already expressed – that Sandals St. Vincent and the Grenadines is one of the most outstanding resorts in the world.”
The Minister further commended Sandals Resorts International for its recent announcement of a new Beaches Resort in SVG, marking another significant investment in the nation’s growing tourism sector. He described the development as a strong vote of confidence in the direction of the industry.
Minister James emphasised that the Beaches Resort will create major opportunities in family tourism, multi-generational travel, and new regional and international markets. He added that the project aligns with the Government’s vision for sustainable and diversified tourism growth.

He also applauded the expanding partnership between the Government of SVG, the SVG Tourism Authority, and Sandals Resorts International, describing it as a model for tourism development in the region. He stated: “As airlift expands, visitor experiences improve, and investment in the tourism product continues across the mainland and the Grenadines, this partnership will play a crucial role in building a resilient, inclusive, and competitive tourism industry for generations to come.”
