Newly elected Member of Parliament for North Leeward, Dr. Kishorn Shallow, has issued a heartfelt statement following his victory in the November 27 general elections, describing the campaign as one of the most challenging periods of his life.
In the release, dated November 30, Dr. Shallow acknowledged enduring intense personal attacks, which he attributed to his decision to offer a “higher standard of representation” to the people of North Leeward. Despite the pressure, he said he remained calm and focused, guided by faith and a commitment to public service.
“It was not easy to be attacked from almost every direction.Yet through it all, I remained calm and grounded,” he wrote. “Every time I stepped onto a stage, I played Goodness of God as a reminder to let my heart be guided by His words.”
Dr. Shallow also alluded to facing “two candidates” in the election, a remark that underscores the intensity of the political contest. However, he emphasized that the electorate delivered a decisive verdict.
“The people have spoken and they spoke with clarity,” he declared.
Expressing deep gratitude to the constituents of North Leeward, Dr. Shallow pledged to prioritize their needs and work collaboratively to build a stronger community.
“My focus is you, each and every one of you. This moment is bigger than any political party. It is about St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the future we are determined to shape together.”
