The Centre for Enterprise Development Inc. (CED) is inviting small business operators and persons interested in starting a business on the leeward side of the island to participate in its first-ever Business Clinic, created to equip participants with various business skills.

The Business Clinic is set to take place on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the Barrouallie Learning Resource Centre from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The CED stated that the Business Clinics are designed to reach enterprises in rural communities and provide guidance on various aspects of managing their operations. The organisation added that the clinics also offer access to CED’s Business Development Officers (BDOs), who will discuss issues affecting local businesses. In addition, the CED noted that the clinics help improve the organisation’s technical support services and guide the development of programmes tailored to the needs of the business sector.

This is the first in a series of Business Clinics under CED’s Unlocking Opportunities Through Climate Change Initiatives (UOCCI) Project.

The CED stated that during the clinic, the organisation will present on the topic “Climate Impacts on Women-Led Businesses.” Following this session, entrepreneurs will be able to participate in one-on-one consultations with a BDO.

The CED further stated that there will also be a Community Programme for Entrepreneurship Development (CPED) Workshop from December 15–19, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Barrouallie Learning Resource Centre.

The CED is appealing to business owners in Barrouallie and other communities on the leeward side of St. Vincent to take advantage of these opportunities and attend the Business Clinic.

According to the CED, the three-year UOCCI Project is funded by the Organization of American States (OAS) through its Development Cooperation Fund (DCF) and is being implemented under the OAS/DCF 2024–2027 programming cycle. The project supports and recognizes the contributions of women and underserved communities to create a more inclusive approach to climate action.

The CED stated that the goal of the UOCCI Project is to reduce the impact of climate change while enhancing livelihoods and increasing economic opportunities for women and vulnerable communities.
