More than twenty hikers are currently stuck in the Hermitage mountain area of North Leeward.
Reports are that the group went hiking today and got lost in the area. Some of the individuals are reportedly from the Richland Park area.
The hikers reportedly began their trek from the Vermont Nature Trail area and were on a hike into the interior of the island. They are in a valley.
Police officers and a few Forestry Officials have been alerted and are currently on their way to rescue the individuals.
We are in contact with someone who is in contact with the lost individuals.
At the time of this post, the rescuers were in an area called Youngman Valley.
Rescue efforts are expected to be tedious as there is no moonlight to aid rescue efforts in the cold, dark, and well-forested interior.
We will bring updates as we get them.
