The new Speaker of the House of Assembly–Parliament of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Mrs Ronnia Durham-Balcombe, held a cordial meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to this country, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, on February 4, 2026, during which both sides reaffirmed their interest in continuing to strengthen bilateral relations and inter-parliamentary exchange.
During the meeting, the importance of deepening cooperation between the legislative bodies of both countries was emphasised as a means of promoting dialogue, the exchange of experiences, and concertation on issues of common interest. The value of mutual respect and the historical friendship that characterise relations between Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was also highlighted.
The President of the Parliament expressed her willingness to promote initiatives that contribute to closer inter-parliamentary ties, while the Cuban Ambassador reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening institutional links and bilateral cooperation.
