Hand2Earth, a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, is presenting its climate adaptation project at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Climate Adaptation and Industrial Resilience Forum 2026 in Vienna, Austria, which runs from February 17 to 20, 2026.
The organization’s initiative focuses on vetiver systems for farmland recovery in the north leeward area of St. Vincent. Since it began in 2022 with support from the SVG Conservation Fund, the project has engaged 85 farmers, 21 craft beneficiaries, and reached more than 200 households. Activities also include watershed management and the development of trails to promote agri-heritage tourism.
Hand2Earth was recognized internationally in 2023 as one of 22 winners of the GEF Assembly Challenge Award, selected from over 600 applicants worldwide. The award has enabled the NGO to expand its climate adaptation efforts and strengthen community engagement.

Project Manager Vonnie Roudette is speaking at the forum, sharing insights on the design, governance, and sustainability of community-led solutions for climate adaptation and sustainable livelihoods.
She emphasizes a holistic and inclusive approach, where knowledge-sharing and community ownership are central to successful project implementation.
The four-day forum brings together governments, private sector leaders, and technical experts to exchange experiences, forge partnerships, and explore strategies for integrating climate adaptation and industrial resilience into sustainable development.
A workshop for community-based organizations is also taking place, allowing participants to share initiatives and build capacity to scale up climate projects across nations.
