Prospect resident Beatrice Franklyn has turned 100 years old today (17 February), becoming St Vincent and the Grenadines’ newest centenarian.
Ms Franklyn spent the day surrounded by family and friends, and received a visit from the Governor General, His Excellency – Stanley John.
She is described as a spirited woman who carries out most of her chores independently, including showering, dressing, and combing her hair. Her relatives also note that she enjoys a simple diet and eats in small portions.
A woman of faith, Ms Franklyn believes strongly in God.
She has three children and several grandchildren.
