Construction of the new Athletes’ Facility at the Sir Vincent Beache Athletic Stadium in Diamond is now in its final stages, with project supervisors indicating that completion is expected by April 2026.

The development marks a significant step in enhancing sports infrastructure and providing modern support for athletes training at the stadium.

The facility will feature a fully equipped gym, massage rooms, a testing room, administrative offices, and a balcony overlooking the track. Once completed, it is expected to greatly improve the training environment and overall experience for athletes using the Diamond track.

Project Supervisor Sadé Rogers reported that the facility is approximately 85–90 percent complete. Key installations, including bathroom fixtures, kitchen cabinets, and ceiling work, have already been finished. Air conditioning units are currently being installed.

Final touches underway include tiling, installation of the CCTV system, completion of the air conditioning, and the final electrical and plumbing works. “These finishing elements take more time, but work is progressing steadily,” Rogers noted.

In addition to the Athletes’ Facility, a new Storage Facility is nearing completion. It will house sporting equipment and provide office space for security personnel, further improving the management of activities at the stadium.

Once fully completed, both buildings will provide modern, functional spaces aimed at supporting athlete development and enhancing the overall sporting experience at the Diamond Stadium.
