The Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (BOSVG) has issued a notice apologising for incidents where customers used ATMs, received no cash, yet had their accounts debited.

The statement followed a One News SVG media report that alerted customers and the public to the issue.

In its Notice to Customers regarding incomplete transactions at Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs), issued overnight on April 2, 2026, the bank said:

“We are aware of reports regarding specific instances where customers’ accounts are being charged without cash being dispensed within our ATM network. Based on our ongoing monitoring of the network, we recognize that these are largely isolated incidents that usually occur during periods of heavy usage of the ATMs. This being a busy weekend is one such period.”

“In the event that these issues persist over the busy weekend, our team will continue to monitor the network to ensure that the impact on the service being provided to customers is minimized. In this regard, affected customers can contact us via our direct support line 1-784-533-0557 or email [email protected],” the Notice stated.

“It is customary in all such instances that the funds charged to the customer’s account are corrected automatically by the end of the next working day,” the Notice further stated.

The bank then apologized: “We recognize the inconvenience being caused in the circumstances and do offer our sincere apology,” and assured customers, “Please be assured that we are taking the necessary measures to minimize such occurrences.”

One News SVG will be monitoring to see if verified impacted customers get justice from the next banking day which is Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
