We have been reliably informed that a woman is dead after falling and receiving “chop wound” in her face as a result of the fall in Union Island, Southern Grenadines.
This is an important update to our previous story where we were told she died as a result of being chopped by someone else.
The victim has be identified as Zara Lewis, a 26-year-old resident of Mount Grenan, St. Vincent who was in Union Island.
Reports are that the woman was in an altercation with someone when she reportedly blocked out, fell and suffered a wound to her head.
She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police are reportedly looking for the person she was arguing with.
The news comes after the fatal stabbing of another woman late on May 29 in Campden Park. In that matter, police have apprehended a male suspect who is reported to have had a relationship with the deceased.
Both incidents are under investigation.
We will be providing more details as they come to hand from authoritative sources.
