Here are the Police reports on deaths in Bequia and Union Island

The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said it is investigating a death in Bequia and another in Union Island.

As it relates to the death in Bequia, Northern Grenadines, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), in a June 1, press release, said:

“Preliminary investigations indicate that at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2026, Clias Dean, a 40-year-old labourer of Sandy Bay who resided at Cemetery Hill, Bequia, went to pick breadfruit from a tree near his resident.”

“He was later observed motionless in the tree, and the police were notified. Upon arrival and subsequent investigations, officers found Mr. Dean in an uprirght position between two limbs,” the report said.

“A District Medical Officer later visited the scene and pronounced Mr. Dean dead. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death,” police said.

In the Union Island matter, the RSVGPF said police in Union Island, Southern Grenadines, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of Zariah Lewis, a 26-year-old domestic worker of Mt. Grenan/Ashton, Union Island, which occurred on May 30, 2026.

“Investigations into the matter are ongoing. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death,” police said.

In both matters, the RSVGPF said it extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.
