Minister of Youth, Sports, Culture and Creative Industries Kaschaka Cupid has declared Vincy Mas 2026 a success, praising the efforts of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) and stakeholders who contributed to the staging of this year’s celebrations.
In a statement issued on July 14, 2026, the ministry congratulated the CDC and all partners involved in the festival, which was held under the theme “The Great Escape.”
The ministry said the annual carnival showcased the creativity, culture and national pride of St Vincent and the Grenadines, while attracting thousands of Vincentians, returning nationals and visitors from around the world.
According to the ministry, the festival further strengthened the country’s position as one of the Caribbean’s premier carnival destinations.
Minister Cupid extended congratulations to participants and winners across the various Vincy Mas competitions, including pageantry, calypso, soca, panorama, mas and other events that highlighted local talent.
He also recognised the contributions of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, the Fire Service, the Health Service, the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) and other emergency response agencies for helping to ensure the safety of patrons, participants and visitors throughout the carnival season.
Private event organisers and promoters were also commended for their role in enhancing the Vincy Mas experience through entertainment events that complemented the official carnival programme.
Reflecting on the success of the festival, Minister Cupid said Vincy Mas 2026 represented a celebration of the country’s cultural identity and creative spirit.
“Vincy Mas 2026, ‘The Great Escape,’ was a true celebration of our culture, creativity, and national spirit. I congratulate the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) for successfully delivering another exceptional carnival,” Minister Cupid said.
The minister also thanked the many stakeholders whose commitment contributed to a safe and enjoyable experience for both citizens and visitors.
“Together, we have once again demonstrated that Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is a premier destination for culture, celebration, and hospitality,” he added.
The Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and Creative Industries said it remains committed to building on the achievements of Vincy Mas 2026 while continuing to promote and preserve the nation’s culture and creative industries.
