St Vincent and the Grenadines defeated Saint Lucia 3–1 on August 16 to capture the men’s gold medal at the 2026 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Senior Men’s Championship in Tortola, British Virgin Islands.

Saint Lucia won the opening set 25–17, but SVG responded by taking the second set 25–17.

SVG then won the third set 25–13 before closing out the final with a 25–22 victory in the fourth set to secure the gold medal.

The final was the second meeting between SVG and Saint Lucia during the championship.

Saint Lucia had defeated SVG 3–1 on August 14. SVG won the opening set 25–17, but Saint Lucia took the second set 25–17, the third 25–18 and the fourth 25–19.

The August 14 loss was SVG’s only defeat of the championship.

SVG reached the final after defeating Bermuda 3–0 in the semifinal on August 15. SVG won the first set 25–18, the second 25–22 and the third 25–20.

SVG had earlier opened the championship with a 3–1 victory over Grenada on August 12. Grenada won the first two sets 25–21 and 25–23, but SVG responded by taking the third set 25–23 and the fourth 25–18 to complete the victory.

On August 13, SVG defeated defending champions Antigua and Barbuda 3–0, winning the first set 25–11, the second 25–20 and the third 25–22.

According to the ECVA final report, SVG’s head coach said a change in the team’s game plan helped turn the final around. The adjustment caught Saint Lucia off guard and created an opportunity for SVG to take control of the match.

Saint Lucia claimed the silver medal, while Dominica secured bronze after defeating Bermuda 3–2 in the third-place match.

The championship featured eight national teams: St Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Bermuda, Grenada, Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla and the host British Virgin Islands.

SVG finished the championship with four wins and one loss to claim the men’s gold medal.
