Park Hill man dies after early-morning road incident; Police investigation underway

The circumstances surrounding the death of a 43-year-old Park Hill man remain under investigation following an early-morning incident in the Village area on Sunday.

Police have identified the deceased as Cliff Peters, who died after an incident involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian shortly before 1:00 a.m. on September 27.

The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force said on Tuesday that officers attached to the Colonarie Police Station responded after receiving a report at approximately 12:50 a.m. of an incident along the public road in Village.

Peters was transported by ambulance to the Georgetown Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination was carried out on Monday, September 28.

Before the official police statement, reports reaching One News SVG indicated that Peters, known to many as “Cliff”, was believed to have been lying on the roadway when a vehicle reportedly made contact with him. However, police have not confirmed those reports, and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain the subject of ongoing investigations.

Investigators have not released further details, including whether any charges are being considered, as inquiries continue.

Police say additional information will be provided as the investigation progresses and when it is appropriate to do so.
