Two Vincentians will operate two of the three American Airlines flights arriving at Argyle International Airport (AIA) from the United States on Saturday, December 7.

The pilots are Mrs. Rochelle Roache-Lanza, who will be flying into AIA from Charlotte, and Tevin Goodridge Da Silva, who will serve as a First Officer on a flight arriving from JFK in New York.

These two American Airlines pilots are set to make aviation history once again for St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), following their recent achievements.

This marks the first time since AIA became operational in February 2017 that three American Airlines aircraft will land at the airport on the same day. Between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., flights from Miami, New York, and Charlotte are scheduled to arrive, with both pilots playing a significant role in this historic moment.

In December 2023, Mrs. Rochelle Roache-Lanza made history by becoming the first Vincentian-born pilot to fly an American Airlines flight into St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

On July 17, 2024, Mr. Tevin Goodridge Da Silva, 30, made history by becoming the first male Vincentian and the second youngest person to pilot an American Airlines aircraft into Argyle International Airport.

Mr. Goodridge Da Silva told One News SVG today that he plans to spend approximately 25 hours in St. Vincent and the Grenadines following his flight.

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority issued a press release today, describing the upcoming event on Saturday as a “landmark achievement highlighting the nation’s continued advancement in global aviation, strengthening its connectivity to the world and solidifying St. Vincent and the Grenadines as a premier destination in the Caribbean.”

Currently, JetBlue, Caribbean Airlines, and Virgin Atlantic also operate international flights into St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ only international airport at Argyle.
