Action Bequia announced on Tuesday that the now repaired sections of the Princess Margaret Trail are now open.
The organization made the announcement on its official Facebook page.
The sections were breached by Hurricane Beryl which passed the area on July 1.
The trail is a popular throughway for locals and visitors to get to and from Princess Margaret Beach.
“The work was done by the very experienced contractor Striker McKenzie of Offshore Welding and Salvage overseen by our own Lucille Cozier, David Harper and Neil Sanders who made this happen seamlessly and without fuss. Something truly in line with our belief that ‘𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬’,” the organization said.
In August 2024, Action Bequia announced the closure of sections of the trail for public safety reasons.
Meanwhile, the organization announced two other projects it said “will help improve things for Bequians”.
Action Bequia said the projects will be to repair the damaged sections of the Clive Tannis Stadium roof and then installing the next 100 water tanks for no income or low-income families. Both projects to be started before the end of January 2025.
