Members of the public can enjoy the festive lights at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Botanical Garden for five additional nights.
The annual Nine Nights of Lights event concluded last night, December 23, but organizers informed One News SVG that the lights will remain on display for Boxing Day (December 26), December 27, 28, and New Year’s Eve (December 31). The lights will also be turned on New Year’s Day (January 1, 2025).
Nine Nights of Lights at the Botanical Garden began in 2015 and has grown to be regarded by many as the country’s premier Christmas festival. It serves as a nighttime counterpart to Nine Mornings, which features early morning Christmas concerts across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) —a tradition unique to this SVG.
Each year, Nine Nights offers an atmosphere filled with food stalls, play areas for children, cultural performances by local artists, giveaways for children, and spectacular light displays throughout the botanical garden which is the oldest botanical garden in the Western Hemisphere.
Next year the festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary.
On the extension, Daize people can visit the garden from 7 PM nightly and enjoy the lights. The admission fees remain the same five dollars for children and $10 for adults.
Nine Nights of Lights at the Botanical Garden is a production of the National Parks, Rivers, and Beaches Authority with specific execution by the Nine Nights of Lights Committee.
