Five Men Charged after 2 Guns, 21 Rounds Seized, Police Say

Five men have been charged in two separate firearm cases following police operations in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on September 26, with two firearms and 21 rounds of ammunition recovered.

The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said the first case involved Zane Dopwell, 38, a mechanic of Walvaroo, and Kyle Ragguette, 33, an entrepreneur of Long Wall.

The two men were jointly charged with possession of an illegal firearm and possession of ammunition.

Police allege that Dopwell and Ragguette had in their possession a Glock 19 semi-automatic pistol and 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition without licences issued under the Firearms Act. The alleged offences occurred in Paul’s Avenue.

Both men appeared before the Serious Offences Court, where they pleaded not guilty. Bail was denied and the matter was adjourned to October 5, 2026.

In the second case, Tearon James, 29, a mechanic; Terrell McLean, 32, a tradesman; and Akeem Peniston, 32, a labourer, all of Diamond, were jointly charged with possession of an illegal firearm and possession of ammunition.

Police allege that the three men had in their possession a Diamondback .380 semi-automatic pistol and six rounds of .380 ammunition without licences issued under the Firearms Act. The alleged offences occurred in Kingstown.

James, McLean and Peniston appeared before the Serious Offences Court and pleaded not guilty. Bail was denied and their matter was adjourned to October 12, 2026.

Across the two cases, police recovered two firearms and 21 rounds of ammunition.

The RSVGPF is encouraging members of the public to provide information concerning illegal firearms, ammunition and other criminal activity.

“Information can be provided to Police Control at 457-1211 or the nearest police station,” the police force said.

Investigations are continuing.
