Prime Minister of Grenada, Hon. Dickon Mitchell, paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Hon. Dr. Godwin Friday, on January 9, 2026, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation.

Speaking at the Argyle International Airport, Prime Minister Mitchell emphasized the importance of face-to-face engagement among Caribbean leaders, noting that both countries share “a unique history, geography, and orientation space.” He described the visit as an opportunity to build trust and camaraderie, stating, “Trust is slowly built by walking together, going through difficulties together, and sometimes having disagreements but always with a shared commitment to serving our people and the region.”

Prime Minister Friday welcomed the visit and pledged SVG’s continued commitment to collaboration within the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). “We have very strong relationships, and I want to pledge my commitment to deepening that relationship so we can work collaboratively for our people,” he said.

He underscored the role of elected officials in prioritizing the public interest and reaffirmed his government’s dedication to regional unity.
