The Massy Stores community is mourning the loss of one of its employees after he died in hospital following a road incident in Arnos Vale on Tuesday morning (September 8).
The deceased has been identified as 56-year-old Garvet Sam.
Sam was struck by a vehicle along the Windward Highway near Thomas Wholesale shortly after the start of the day. He was taken to hospital for emergency treatment after the incident.
Earlier reports had indicated that he had been hospitalised and that his condition was unknown. However, it has since been confirmed that he succumbed to his injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation, and no official details have yet been released on how the incident occurred or whether anyone has been taken into custody.
The news has left colleagues at Massy Stores and members of the wider community saddened, with many expressing shock at his passing.
