The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Energy, in partnership with the Lions Club of St. Vincent South, is hosting a night clinic today offering a range of free medical services in commemoration of World AIDS Day, which is observed annually on December 1st.

The event will take place at ComSport in Arnos Vale from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., under this year’s theme: “Overcoming Disruption and Transforming the AIDS Response.”

Services at the night clinic include general and breast examinations, dental checks, rapid HIV and syphilis tests with results available in 15 minutes, and a blood drive for those wishing to donate. Children can enjoy games while parents access the various services. All services are provided free of charge.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions about medications, diseases, and human rights issues, including discrimination in the workplace. A legal team and representatives from the Medical Association and the Lions Club will be present to provide guidance.

The Ministry encourages the public to attend, take advantage of the free services, and learn more about HIV and related health issues.

Globally, an estimated 40.8 million people were living with HIV in 2024, with 1.3 million people acquiring HIV that year, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
