To support families and schoolchildren across St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the Modern Port Operating Company (MPOC) has donated milk to the Ministry of Family and Gender Affairs, Persons with Disabilities, Occupational Safety and Labour. The donation was officially handed over during a brief ceremony held earlier today.
The milk was presented by Chief Executive Officer of MPOC, Carl James, and accepted on behalf of the Ministry by Minister of the Family and Gender Affairs, Laverne Gibson-Velox.
In brief remarks, James said the donation was made on behalf of the management, board, and staff of the Modern Port Operating Company as a contribution to the important work carried out by the ministry. He noted that the milk would be beneficial to families served by the Ministry and expressed pleasure in being able to offer support.

Minister Gibson-Velox expressed sincere appreciation to MPOC for the timely donation, noting that the ministry serves some of the most vulnerable groups across St. Vincent and the Grenadines, including families and schoolchildren. She explained that with schools having recently reopened, the milk will be distributed to schools within the coming days and incorporated into school feeding programmes to enhance the nutritional value of meals provided to students.
The Minister also thanked the Modern Port Operating Company for the generous gesture and expressed hope that the Ministry would continue to be considered for similar support in the future.
