Police and Coast Guard personnel are continuing the search for Robert Lavia, a 51-year-old fisherman of Owia, who was reported missing on Wednesday, 1 April, 2026.

In an April 4 press release, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said: “Reports are that Lavia left home around 5 a.m. on that date to fish in the area north of Owia, between Rock Gutter and Cramacou, and did not return home.”

“Search operations were subsequently carried out along the northeastern coast of St. Vincent, with the assistance of the SVG Coast Guard Service,” police said.

Police said: “During the search, a reel of fishing line believed to belong to Lavia was found.”

“Anyone with information that may assist in locating Robert Lavia is urged to contact the Owia Police Station at 457-6605, Police Control at 457-1211, or the nearest police station,” the release stated.
