The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has issued a correction regarding the death toll from the Overland Road accident, confirming that the death toll stands at one.
The deceased has been identified as 74-year-old Mary Brackin of Sandy Bay, who succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident on Thursday, March 26.
In a March 27 press release, police stated that earlier information suggesting that another individual had died was later found to be incorrect.

“The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force wishes to advise that the earlier statement indicating that Mr. Amos Lavia died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital on March 27, 2026, was incorrect. Mr. Lavia is alive and remains hospitalized receiving medical attention.”
The RSVGPF said it regrets the error and apologized for any distress caused.
While such corrections are uncommon, they may occur as information continues to be verified during ongoing investigations.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
