The Roseau Recreational Park, a long-standing facility in the East Kingstown constituency, has officially been placed under the management of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA). Area representative and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Investment, Fitzgerald Bramble, announced the handover.

“This playground was initially designed for the children of the community to be used as a playground. The history behind it has been one of mismanagement and misuse,” Minister Bramble said in a social media post. “Today, I am happy to say that it is now under the National Lottery, under the management of Mr. Sealy. Renovations and changes will be made to it for the use of the children in the community and for the use of the community as a whole.”

Minister Bramble underscored the importance of restoring the park to its intended purpose. “We are just asking for your cooperation as we do all the renovations and restructuring to make this playground a true playground and make it available for the community of Roseau and the surrounding areas,” he said.

The National Lotteries Authority, which has overseen several community development projects across the country, is expected to invest in upgrades to the park’s infrastructure. Planned renovations include improved play equipment, landscaping, and facilities that will serve both children and adults.

The NLA’s involvement is seen as a step toward ensuring sustainable management and long-term community benefit.
