The St. Vincent Brewery Ltd. (SVBL) announced that it is celebrating 225 years of Guinness being enjoyed across the West Indies and Caribbean.

The celebration coincided with SVBL welcoming Arthur Edward “Ned” Guinness, Fourth Earl of Iveagh, to its facilities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Thursday, January 22nd, 2026, marking “a convergence of global brewing heritage and Vincentian expertise.”

During his visit, Lord Iveagh engaged with SVBL’s brewing team, toured the facilities, and sampled a selection of locally produced beverages brewed and bottled at SVBL. “The experience highlighted the people, processes, and pride behind brewing excellence in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, reinforcing the shared values that continue to shape the Guinness legacy worldwide,” SVBL said.

The brewery noted that a particularly significant moment was Lord Iveagh’s presentation of a commemorative book to SVBL staff, documenting four generations of the Guinness family during a pivotal period in the brand’s history, including his great-great-grandfather Edward Cecil Guinness, 1st Earl of Iveagh, whose leadership helped shape the modern Guinness legacy. The publication chronicles a multicentury brewing lineage spanning more than two centuries.

Reflecting on the occasion, Country Manager of St. Vincent Brewery Ltd., Shafia London, said: “We were extremely excited and deeply honoured to welcome Lord Iveagh to St. Vincent Brewery Ltd. Guinness has always held a special personal significance for me, so this visit was especially meaningful. To connect our team and our local craft with the legacy of the Guinness family, spanning over two centuries, was truly inspiring.”

The brewery said the occasion served as a reminder that Guinness’ story in the Caribbean is one of continuity, care, and connection, where heritage is not merely preserved but actively carried forward by the people behind the brew.

It further stated: “As Guinness celebrates 225 years of brewing history in the West Indies and Caribbean, St. Vincent Brewery Ltd. proudly stands at the intersection of legacy and innovation, where Guinness heritage meets Vincentian craft, and where the future of brewing continues to thrive.”

Guinness continues to be brewed at St. James’s Gate in Dublin, alongside carefully controlled brewing operations around the world, upholding the same commitment to quality and craftsmanship that has defined the brand for more than two centuries.
