SVG Sailing Week 2026 has concluded following a week of events, with sailors from across the region crowned champions after a week of exhilarating competition.
Organisers say this year’s edition recorded an increase in participation, with the number of entrants doubling compared to previous years, underscoring the growing appeal of the event.
The week-long regatta officially began on March 29 with the Junior Championships on mainland St. Vincent, then transitioned to the Grenadines, culminating in Bequia on April 6 with a series of competitive races across multiple classes.

In addition to the Junior Championships, the 2026 programme featured the Racing Class, Cruising Class, J24 Class, and the Canouan CSA Division.
In the Racing Class, Dingolay II finished first, followed by Category 5 in second place and J Star in third. In the Cruising Class, Nirvana secured first place ahead of Tempest and Sea Wyf. The J24 Class was won by Die Hard, with Glory Daze placing second. In the Canouan Cup CSA Division, The Blue Peter finished first, followed by Nirvana and J Star.
The prize-giving ceremony was held at the Bequia Plantation House and brought together participants, supporters, stakeholders, and government officials, including the Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. Godwin Friday, and the Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Sustainable Development, Dr. Kishore Shallow.

The Prime Minister praised the strong regional participation and the collaborative effort behind the event, describing the regatta as contributing to tourism and economic activity in Bequia.
SVG Sailing Week continues to contribute to tourism and economic activity in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, with organisers already looking ahead to the 2027 edition scheduled for March 21–29.
