Swearing-In of SVG’s New Cabinet set for December 2 at Arnos Vale

The swearing-in ceremony for St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ new Cabinet is scheduled for 2 December 2025 at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

The event will commence at 5:00 p.m. and is also being described as a thanksgiving ceremony.

Newly appointed Prime Minister Dr. Godwin Friday will announce his Cabinet members, who will subsequently take their oaths, including the Oath of Office.

Based on the previous shadow cabinets announced by the New Democratic Party during their time in opposition, it is anticipated that senior party members St. Clair Leacock will be appointed Minister of National Security, Daniel Cummings as Minister of Health, and Nigel Stephenson possibly as Minister of Sports.

The party secured 14 of the 15 electoral seats, presenting opportunities to establish new ministries aligned with its four economic pillars: agriculture, the Blue Economy, tourism, and the New Economy.

Additionally, the Constitution allows for four senators, two of whom may be appointed as ministers.

The public will be informed of the portfolio assignments tomorrow.
