Three men are dead and another wounded following a weekend of gun violence in Stoney Ground and Buccament Bay. The incidents, which unfolded in broad daylight in commercial areas, have shaken communities across St. Vincent and the Grenadines and prompted a forceful response from Commissioner of Police (COP) Enville Williams.
In an address posted on the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) social media page, Williams described the attacks as “a direct assault on the peace, the dignity, and the very soul of this country.” He declared that the RSVGPF will now shift its footing to “an absolute operational offensive,” mobilizing every lawful resource to hunt down those responsible.
“Under the full weight of the law, we will find you. We will break the structures that sustain you,” Williams said, warning that anyone who shelters or assists the perpetrators will be treated as accomplices.

Williams acknowledged the fear gripping ordinary Vincentians, noting that the question now being asked “Is it safe to step outside?” is itself a tragic casualty of the violence. He urged citizens to resist silence and bring forward any information that could aid investigations.
“Your anger is justified. Your anxiety is understood. But your silence is the only thing that allows this darkness to breathe,” he said. He cautioned against vigilante justice, stressing: “Vigilantism is not justice. It is the fuel that feeds the fire. Let the law be your shield and the police your sword.”
The Commissioner announced that the Criminal Investigations Department and Major Crime Units are on standby at 4561801 and 4571211, with a QR code system to be introduced in the coming days to allow citizens to share information anonymously. He assured that identities will be protected “with the highest level of confidence.”
Williams insisted that the violence of a few will not define the nation. “We will reclaim our streets. We will restore our peace. And we will ensure St. Vincent and the Grenadines remain a land where law and order are absolute,” he said, closing with a call for courage and national resolve.
