UPDATE: 4 Glen men granted $20,000 bail in weapons case

Police have released an update on the case where four young men were arrested and charged for possession of illegal weapons and ammunition. 

The men from the East St. George community of Glen were arrested on December 18.

In a December 21 update, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said:

“On Friday, December 20, 2024, the four defendants appeared before the Serious Offences Court and pleaded not guilty to the charges.”

Police said bail was granted to each defendant in the sum of $20,000.00, with specific conditions as outlined below.

Altha James, Javid Grant, and Kamal Ballantyne were each granted bail with one surety, while Vashon Thomas was required to provide two sureties.

All defendants are to report to the Calliaqua Police Station every Monday and Wednesday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Stop notices have been placed at all ports of entry and exit, and all defendants are required to surrender their travel documents.

All defendants are subject to a curfew from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., police said. 

The defendants were remanded into custody until Monday, December 23, 2024, as the necessary documentation required by the court had not yet been submitted. The matter has been adjourned to January 7, 2025.
