Vehicular tragedy strikes North Windward again

Police have confirmed that one person is dead after a vehicle reportedly ran off the road in the North Windward community of Old Sandy Bay. 

The deceased has only been identified as Lando.

The incident is reported to have occurred just after 5:00 a.m. today (December 13).

The circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear, but the motor vehicle was held up by a telephone pole which prevented it from plunging into the sea. 

It was headed from Owia toward Sandy Bay.

Reports are that other occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital for medical attention.

In September 2022, five people were killed when the vehicle in which they were traveling overturned in Old Sandy Bay.
