A Vincentian man from Redemption Sharpes has died in Anguilla following an incident involving electrical infrastructure on Wednesday, 21 October.
He is Bensley Anthony Browne, known to family and friends as “Tony B”.
Well-placed sources informed One News SVG that the incident was reported at 1:57 p.m. and that Browne was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anguilla Police have not publicly released details on the incident on their social media platforms, but investigations are ongoing.

Browne is known to be from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and his roots are in Redemption Sharpes. He was born on 3 November 1961 and would have turned 65 next month.
In a press release issued the same day, the Anguilla Electricity Company Limited (ANGLEC) extended condolences to Browne’s family, friends and loved ones.
The company did not name him in its statement.
ANGLEC described the death as a reminder of the dangers of climbing trees and of any activity carried out near power lines. The utility explained that while it trims trees to keep its network safe, it cannot simply cut or remove trees on private property, especially fruit trees. It said that work depends on the permission and cooperation of property owners, and it is pushing for stronger policies to support preventive maintenance.
The company urged residents not to attempt trimming near power lines themselves. Instead, they should report trees that look hazardous to its Trouble Call line at 497-2891 and request help. It also strongly advised people against climbing any tree close to electrical or other utility lines.
Back home, news of Browne’s passing has been spreading among relatives and friends. One memorial message shared on social media remembers him as someone whose presence will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
The circumstances of the incident have not been officially confirmed. The police investigation continues.
