The Zero Hunger Trust Fund (ZHTF) has launched its 10th anniversary celebrations, highlighting ten years of efforts to combat hunger while supporting students and vulnerable communities across St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
The anniversary media launch took place on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026 at the NIS conference room.
Deputy Chief Education Officer and ZHTF Board of Trustees member, Jocelyn Blake-Browne, noted that the Zero Hunger Trust Fund represents a decade of national resolve in building resilient communities, aiding vulnerable children and families, and improving dietary health.

Meanwhile, Principal of the Calliaqua Anglican School, Roslyn Marshall, congratulated the Zero Hunger Trust Fund for its support in shaping the nation’s children. Marshall added that the organisation is “a strong and active stakeholder” of the Calliaqua Anglican School. She highlighted the School Feeding Programme, which she said eases the financial burden on parents and ensures that students receive healthy meals.
Similarly, Principal of the Fair Hall Government School, Angella Kydd-Roberts, disclosed that sponsorship from the Zero Hunger Trust Fund has yielded positive results, including improvements in student grades, attendance and self-confidence.
Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Sustainable Development, Dr Kishore Shallow, stated that the Zero Hunger Trust Fund is a testament to what can be achieved when governments, communities and stakeholders collaborate.
He commended the ZHTF for ten years of positively impacting the lives of Vincentians by striving to end hunger, promote access to safe and nutritious food, and advance sustainable development. He also called on donors, volunteers and partners to continue supporting the organisation.

Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Zero Hunger Trust Fund, Safiya Horne-Bique, reflected on the organisation’s journey and its growing national importance.
She stated that “The Zero Hunger Trust Fund was established with a clear and urgent mission to ensure that no Vincentian is left behind in their ability to access safe, nutritious food. Ten years later, we are proud of the meaningful difference we have made in the lives of individuals, families and communities across the nation. What began as a targeted intervention has grown into a trusted national institution and a catalyst for long-term resilience.”
She noted that the anniversary represents both a moment of reflection and renewed commitment. She expressed gratitude to partners, stakeholders, and the Vincentian public whose support has made this work possible.
As part of its anniversary celebrations, the ZHTF will introduce a proposal to recognise April 6th, 2026 as Zero Hunger Day, creating an annual national observance to raise awareness and inspire collective action. Other activities include the National Essay and Art Competition (April 1st, 2026 launch), Volunteerism and ‘Giving Back’ Week (April 5-11, 2026), National Thanksgiving and Reflection Service (April 26, 2026), and the Zero Hunger Gala and Awards (April 30, 2026).
The anniversary celebrations, scheduled throughout April 2026, are being observed under the theme ‘10 Years of Impact; Visioning for the Next Decade’.
