Fourteen (14) employees at the Argyle International Airport (AIA) participated in a Basic Sign Language Training session aimed at enhancing communication with persons with disabilities.
The session was conducted by Mrs. Arielle Hooper, a passionate educator and self-taught sign language tutor, committed to promoting inclusivity and accessibility.
The training introduced fundamental sign language skills, including common greetings, essential airport-related terms, and strategies for effective non-verbal communication. Participants engaged in interactive exercises designed to improve their confidence in assisting hearing impaired travelers and ensuring a more inclusive customer service experience at the Argyle International Airport (AIA).

Mrs. Hooper emphasized the importance of bridging communication gaps, stating, “Accessibility should be a priority in every space, and I’m honored to equip airport staff with the tools to better serve all passengers, regardless of their ability.”
The initiative aligns with AIA’s commitment to providing high-quality service to all travelers. Participants expressed enthusiasm about the session, highlighting its relevance and the need for continued training in this area.
