SVG Sailing Week 2026 has recorded increased participation, with yacht entries doubling, alongside stronger global visibility, underscoring St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ growing strength in sports tourism.
Yacht registrations rose from 11 in 2025 to 24 in 2026, reflecting an increase in participation across competing classes. The event, which spanned activities from mainland St. Vincent to Bequia, featured competitive racing alongside cultural and community engagement.
Organisers also reported growth in digital engagement linked to the event. Social media views increased from 1.2 million in 2025 to 6.2 million in 2026, while total reach grew from 308,000 to 780,000. Website traffic also rose significantly, with unique visitors increasing from 6,892 to 27,889 and page views rising from 10,588 to 39,862.

The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, through the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, and Sustainable Development, has described the event as a strong indicator of continued growth in the country’s sports tourism sector.
Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, and Sustainable Development, Dr. Kishore Shallow praised the success of the event and its wider impact.
“SVG Sailing Week 2026 is a shining example of what can be achieved through vision, collaboration, and hard work. In addition to the national beauty and maritime heritage on show, there were tangible economic benefits for our people. As a government, we remain fully committed to investing in initiatives like these that create opportunities, drive tourism, and position St. Vincent and the Grenadines as a leading destination on the global stage,” he said.

He also commended the stakeholders responsible for delivering the event. “The outstanding success of SVG Sailing Week this year would not have been possible without the tremendous support of our many stakeholders. I also commend the management and staff, alongside the steering committee, for delivering a first-rate event within a remarkably short planning window. This achievement is highly encouraging as we look ahead to even greater editions in the future.”
The Ministry extended appreciation to the SVG Sailing Association, event partners, volunteers, local communities, and regional collaborators for their contribution to the event’s success.
The administration has reaffirmed its commitment to building on this momentum by enhancing partnerships and expanding the scale and impact of future editions.
SVG Sailing Week is already confirmed for March 21 – 29, 2027.
