Government Receives 59 ICT Devices to Strengthen Digital Trade Services

A total of 59 information and communication technology (ICT) devices are being provided to government agencies to strengthen their capacity to deliver digital trade-related services under the Vincy Single Window for Trade (VSWIFT) initiative.

According to a July 14, 2026 press release issued by the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP), the organisation is facilitating the distribution and installation of the equipment to partner government agencies as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen digital capacity under VSWIFT.

The release stated that the ICT equipment, procured under the VSWIFT initiative through CARDTP, has been configured to support document processing activities associated with the upgraded ASYCUDA World 4.4 system.

The equipment will enhance agencies’ ability to process electronic licences, permits, certificates and other trade-related documents through digital platforms, while improving operational efficiency and supporting the continued digitisation of trade-related services.

The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) is supporting the installation and setup of the equipment.

The 59 devices distributed include 24 desktop computers, four laptops, 24 tablets and seven printers, allocated among six government agencies based on their operational requirements.

The Plant Protection and Quarantine Unit received four desktop computers, six tablets and one printer, while the Animal Health and Production Division received four desktop computers, four tablets and one printer.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment received four desktop computers, four tablets and one printer. The Consumer Affairs Department received four desktop computers, one laptop, three tablets and one printer.

The Fisheries Division received two desktop computers, two tablets and one printer, while the Forestry Division received six desktop computers, three laptops, six tablets and two printers.

CARDTP said the equipment allocations were determined based on operational requirements identified during the VSWIFT implementation planning process to ensure that each agency is equipped to effectively deliver digital trade-related services.

The Vincy Single Window for Trade is being implemented under CARDTP and forms part of the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ wider efforts to modernise public sector services through digital innovation.

“By strengthening the technological capacity of key agencies, the initiative aims to improve service delivery, increase efficiency, and provide a more seamless experience for citizens and businesses engaged in trade,” CARDTP stated.

The project supports the continued transition towards more integrated digital systems for trade-related processes, allowing participating agencies to manage services more efficiently through electronic platforms.

CARDTP said the completion of the equipment handovers represents continued progress in the implementation of VSWIFT and reinforces the Government’s commitment to advancing digital transformation and improving the delivery of public services.
