RSVGPF confirms appointment of Acting police chief, leadership changes and promotions

The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has announced a series of leadership appointments and promotions aimed at ensuring continuity within the organisation while Commissioner of Police Enville Williams proceeds on seven months’ leave.
The new leadership arrangements took effect on Monday, August 17.
Under the changes, Trevor Bailey has been appointed to act as Commissioner of Police, while Junior Simmons will serve as acting Deputy Commissioner of Police. Brenton Smith has also assumed the role of acting Assistant Commissioner of Police.
The RSVGPF said the appointments form part of measures to maintain effective leadership, administration and operational stability during the Commissioner’s absence.
The Force also indicated that additional administrative arrangements are expected to be introduced across the organisation and will be announced at a later date.
Alongside the leadership changes, the RSVGPF confirmed that promotions approved with effect from June 22, 2026, have been implemented across several branches and services.
The promotions cover personnel within General Administration, the Fire Department, the St Vincent and the Grenadines Auxiliary Police and the St Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard Service.
In total, 59 officers have been promoted. They include 19 officers elevated to the rank of Sergeant, 34 to the rank of Corporal, three to the rank of Petty Officer and three to the rank of Leading Seaman.
The RSVGPF congratulated the promoted personnel and encouraged them to carry out their new responsibilities with professionalism, discipline and a steadfast commitment to public service.
The Force said it remains focused on maintaining strong leadership and operational continuity while continuing to provide policing and public safety services throughout St Vincent and the Grenadines.
