Independence Night Market happening this weekend at Heritage Square and runs until Oct 27

By Admin. Updated 8:42 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2026, Atlantic Standard Time (GMT-4).
The Independence Night Market opens this evening at Heritage Square in Kingstown, giving Vincentians five nights of food, music, craft and entertainment as the country counts down to its 47th anniversary of independence.
The market runs from today, Friday 23 October, to Independence Day on Tuesday 27 October. It is organised by the National Independence Committee and the Department of Culture, with support from Invest SVG.
According to information from the organizers, the event forms part of a wider national effort to renew patriotism and cultural pride during the Independence season. It has been added to the weekend’s calendar of activities as an extra event, and organisers say it will put Vincentian creators, entrepreneurs and performers front and centre.
Each evening, Heritage Square will host exhibitors, live music, local food and other entertainment.
The timing is deliberate. Independence is one of the busiest periods of the year for returning nationals, and many members of the diaspora are already home or on their way. Organisers see the market as a natural meeting point, somewhere people can link up with family and friends and reconnect with the culture they carry abroad.
Visitors to the destination are also being encouraged to stop by. The release describes the market as a chance to sample Vincentian food, music, craft and hospitality in one central location.
For residents, the message is simpler: come out and enjoy the season. Whether it is a quick stop after work, an evening out with the family, or a few hours taking in the music and the food, the public is being invited to celebrate together while supporting local businesses.
The opening hours are Friday 23 October to Monday 26 October: 5 pm to 10 pm, and on Tuesday 27 October (Independence Day): 3 pm to 10 pm.
Anyone who wishes to get in touch with the organizers is asked to contact 1 784 433-3323.
All activities take place at Heritage Square, Kingstown.
