A foreign-registered commercial fishing vessel ran aground in the Obsidian Bay area of Mustique on Sunday, prompting a response from the St Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard Service and the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force.
Information confirmed to One News SVG indicates that the incident was reported to the Coast Guard Service at approximately 9:17 a.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Police and Coast Guard personnel responded to the scene, where four people were aboard the vessel. All four were safely removed from the grounded fishing vessel.
A photograph obtained by One News shows the vessel, identified as Destiny 7, resting aground near the shoreline in Obsidian Bay.
The vessel also has Port of Spain which is the capital of Trinidad and Tobago.
Authorities have not released the nationality or medical condition of the four occupants, explaining that the matter is being treated as a maritime incident. Consequently, no further details about their identities have been disclosed.
The circumstances that caused the vessel to run aground have not been made public, and investigations into the incident are continuing.
