House Destroyed by Fire in Block 2000

A wooden dwelling house in the Block 2000 area of Central Kingstown was gutted by fire this morning.

The property, which sources say was occupied by at least one person, was completely destroyed.

No one was injured in the blaze.

The was first reported sometime after 6:00 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Police are expected to conduct investigations.

Recent fires

The incident follows a spate of fires in the country since late December 2025.

On December 29, 2025, a major section of Questelles Government School was gutted, many students were temporarily relocated to Campden Park Community Centre.

On January 1, 2026, a two-storey dwelling house in Clare Valley was gutted. A person who was asleep awoke to the fire and escaped by jumping from a second-floor window several feet above ground.

He suffered minor injuries, received hospital treatment, and were discharged. Investigations are ongoing.

On January 26, 2026, a multi-storey dwelling house in Pembroke caught fire. A section of the property was damaged.
