National Archivist Jeon Julien has launched a new handcrafted heritage collection inspired by the history, culture and traditions of St Vincent and the Grenadines, while paying tribute to the memory of her late father, Cameron Adams.
The Heritage Keepsakes Collection was officially launched on June 27 and features a range of handcrafted items designed to celebrate Vincentian identity and heritage. The collection includes earrings, brooches, keychains, bag clips and fridge magnets inspired by the nation’s landmarks, flora, fauna, traditions and everyday life.

For Julien, the launch marks the fulfilment of a dream long shared with her father, a skilled craftsman who hoped to see his creations displayed in one of the country’s leading souvenir stores, Voyager SVG. Adams died in 2013.

Although the launch came just days after Father’s Day, Julien described it as a meaningful way to honour her father’s memory while continuing the legacy of creativity and craftsmanship he inspired.
As National Archivist, Julien has dedicated her professional career to preserving the documentary heritage of St Vincent and the Grenadines and safeguarding the stories of its people for future generations. She said the Heritage Keepsakes Collection extends that mission beyond the archives by transforming elements of Vincentian history and culture into handcrafted pieces that can be worn, displayed and treasured.
The collection is intended not only as a range of souvenirs but also as a means of encouraging appreciation for the nation’s heritage.
Reflecting on the initiative, Julien said the collection was inspired by both her work as National Archivist and her personal experiences growing up in Belair.
“As National Archivist, I spend every day preserving our nation’s history. Through the Heritage Keepsakes Collection, I wanted to bring that history beyond the archives and into people’s everyday lives,” she said.
“Each piece tells a story, inspired by my childhood memories of growing up in Belair and by the cultural traditions that make St Vincent and the Grenadines unique. My hope is that these keepsakes inspire pride among Vincentians and create lasting memories for visitors to our islands.”
The collection is available at several retail locations across the country, including Bamboo Spa and CynDale Enterprises in Belair, Common Ground at the Kingstown Cruise Ship Terminal, Coreas Hazells City Store on Halifax Street, and Voyager SVG on Halifax Street.
Julien said the launch represents another step in her ongoing commitment to preserving and promoting Vincentian heritage through contemporary art and design.
By transforming aspects of the nation’s cultural history into handcrafted keepsakes, the collection seeks to foster greater appreciation for St Vincent and the Grenadines while supporting local creativity and cultural tourism.
The launch also highlights the enduring influence of a father’s vision, with Julien carrying forward a dream that now allows Vincentian heritage to be shared through locally crafted pieces designed to tell the story of the nation.
