St Vincent and the Grenadines has strengthened its standing as one of the Caribbean’s premier tourism destinations after being named the Caribbean’s Leading Green Destination 2026 at the World Travel Awards for the third consecutive year.
The latest accolade follows previous victories in 2024 and 2025, reaffirming the country’s growing reputation for sustainable tourism and environmentally conscious travel experiences.
The celebrations extended beyond the national award, with Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines capturing the title of Caribbean’s Leading All-Inclusive Resort 2026, adding another major regional honour to the destination’s expanding list of achievements.
The St Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA) said the awards highlight both the country’s natural attractions and the quality of its tourism product, while providing another opportunity to showcase the destination to international travellers.
According to the Authority, retaining the Green Destination title supports its continued focus on eco-tourism, marine tourism and authentic cultural experiences. It also reinforces efforts to encourage visitors to explore the islands responsibly, engage with local communities and appreciate the natural environment that defines the destination.
In addition to the two regional awards, tourism properties and operators across St Vincent and the Grenadines secured 12 national honours at the 2026 World Travel Awards.
Among the winners were Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, which also received the title of Leading Wedding Hotel, and Bequia Beach Hotel, recognised as both Leading Beach Hotel and Leading Hotel.
Other award recipients included Soho Beach House Canouan as Leading Boutique Hotel; Mandarin Oriental, Canouan as Leading Resort, with its Two-Bedroom Oceanview Suite named Leading Hotel Suite; The Cotton House, whose Residence was recognised as Leading Luxury Hotel Villa; Grenadine Hills, with Villa ONE winning Leading Luxury Private Villa; Petit St Vincent as Leading Private Island Resort; Island Fever Tours S.V.G. as Leading Tour Operator; and Canouan Estate Resort & Villas as Leading Villa Resort.
The Tourism Authority said the recognition reflects the dedication of the people working throughout the tourism sector, from frontline hospitality staff to tour operators and others whose service helps create memorable experiences for visitors.
The SVGTA also congratulated all of this year’s winners, describing their achievements as a source of national pride and an important opportunity to further raise the profile of St Vincent and the Grenadines among travellers and international tourism partners.
