Two outstanding young athletes from St. Vincent and the Grenadines are travelling to Jamaica today (May 28) to participate in the annual Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Student Athletes Summit in Kingston.

The athletes are 12-year-old Tyler Hercules of the St. Vincent Grammar School, the 2026 Inter-Secondary Schools Athletics Championships Victor Ludorum, and Kesiann John of the Barrouallie Secondary School, the championships’ Victrix Ludorum.

They will be accompanied by founder of Awesome Sports International, Renson Haynes, for the summit hosted by the Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Pocket Rocket Foundation on Friday, May 29.

Their selection follows a commitment made earlier this year by Jamaican sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce during her visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines in March. Fraser-Pryce visited the country alongside members of the Pocket Rocket Six-a-Side Football Team for a series of friendly matches organised in collaboration with Awesome Sports International.

The all-day summit will feature interactive sessions, mentorship opportunities, and keynote presentations, including an address by Fraser-Pryce herself.

The trip was made possible through a collaboration between Awesome Sports International and the Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Pocket Rocket Foundation.

Hercules delivered a standout performance at this year’s Inter-Secondary Schools Athletics Championships, breaking records in the Junior Boys 100m, 200m and 400m events.

John, 16, also impressed by setting new records in the Senior Girls 800m and 1,500m events.
